Position Summary: Teach one or more mathematics courses ranging from Fundamentals of Mathematics through Differential Equations and Business Statistics. Classes will primarily be offered face-to-face, but may be offered online, or in a combination of these methods.
Required Qualifications:
- In order to teach non-transfer, developmental mathematics classes at JCCC, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a related field that includes a minimum of the full 3-semester calculus sequence plus two additional mathematics or statistics courses beyond the calculus sequence.
- In order to teach credit mathematics classes at JCCC, the candidate must have a Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours earned in mathematics intensive classes.
- Teaching experience at the high school or college level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of students at a community college
- Experience teaching at the community college level
- Experience mentoring students
- Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system
