Our group develops radio-frequency (RF) and advanced electronic systems for space control missions and technology for the protection of our nation’s most important space capabilities. This work includes the design and development of state-of-the-art satellites and satellite payloads, novel concepts for resilient space architectures, and the nation’s most sensitive radars, optics, and passive RF systems. Our group also collaborates across the Laboratory to provide engineering rigor and experience to some of the most critical Laboratory programs. Examples of recent projects include the prototyping of electronic systems and effects, hardware-in-the-loop testing of tactically relevant payloads with surrogate threat systems, and RF subsystem development for satellites.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of a dynamic group office, encompassing a wide variety of administrative support tasks.



Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process a variety of Laboratory administrative web-based forms, answer telephones, maintain electronic calendars, order group office supplies, sort area mail, and compose and type correspondence.
  • Maintain an understanding of current work area policies and respond to inquiries providing explanation/instruction.
  • Use SAP to enter and track purchasing via SRM, enter weekly/hourly time reports, staff vacation reports, ship order requests, and respond to various purchasing related inquiries via R/3.
  • Maintain the group PCard in accordance with PCard holder guidelines.
  • Act as one of the group's property coordinators and manage facilities requests.
  • Maintain group emergency health and safety plan and coordinate security inspections.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews using SuccessFactors.
  • Track and coordinate on/offboarding activities and orientation for incoming and departing staff.
  • Set up and coordinate arrangements for internal and external meetings, conferences and staff events. Draft associated materials such as information briefings and invitations.


Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent with 5 years of directly related administrative experience required. Post high-school education will count toward experience.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and excellent general computer skills are desired.
  • Must possess strong administrative support skills and be able to interact with all levels of Laboratory personnel as well as show considerable initiative and be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to prioritize, handle multiple concurrent tasks, along with a demonstrated record of success working as part of a team, is required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills, and be able to demonstrate interpersonal skills, organizational skills; appropriate judgment and a conscious approach to work are necessary.
