Advocacy Organizer
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, 1 FTE
FLSA Status: Exempt
LOCATION Hybrid/Main office - 410 NE 18th Ave.
COMPENSATION: $52,000 to $60,000 DOE
Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission driven and community service mindset individual with bi-cultural proficiency to build and maintain positive relationships with Latino Network staff, participants of programs and community members. Developing leadership and mobilization capabilities within the community to make progress on policy priorities that impact the Latino community through civic education and political engagement. Advocacy Coordinator will work with both Latino Network 501(c)(3) and Latino Action Fund 501(c)(4). The coordinator will engage in community building, train self-advocates and build partnerships with other community partners. During election cycles, they will also play an active role in mobilizing and supporting the Latino community to become politically involved.

In this role you will support our community by:
C4 responsibilities will include
- Collaborate with development team to support Latino Network Action Fund fundraising campaign and strategy
- Support communications strategy and planning of LNAF’s social media
- Create and implement a base building field plan to build a database of supporters LNAF can politically activate and mobilize
- Support in grant writing, reporting, and required program participation
- During election cycles:
- Leads on endorsement request and processes from candidates
- Provides support to endorsed candidates as needed
- Provides bilingual support and training for in-person canvasses and phone/text banking events
- Cultivates a volunteer base using the ladder of engagement
- Manages Voter Action Network (VAN) data processes, keeping data up to date and pulling data as needed
- Creates segmented lists for phone/text banks and cut turf for in-person canvassing
- Leads other campaign activities such as get out the vote (GOTV), digital/virtual, and ballot assistance events
- Supervises a team of temporary field organizers and volunteers as needed. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work to meet goals in alignment with Agency mission and values; appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding employees; carrying out any necessary corrective actions; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.
C3 responsibilities will include
- Build and maintain strong relationships with staff across Latino Network programs, current program participants and alumni of services
- Build and maintain strong awareness of program strengths and needs as it is impacted by or may impact policy and issue campaign initiatives
- Leadership development among staff and community members interested in engaging in advocacy, public policy work and leadership programs
- Develop and implement grassroots mobilization and community outreach efforts to engage staff and community members in developing, leading, and implementing Latino Network’s policy agenda
- Grassroots organizing efforts including, storytelling training, testimony and advocacy training, turn-out for key civic events
What we are looking for:

- Related unpaid or paid Advocacy and Organizing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- English and Spanish Bilingual proficiency required, ability to translate general communications, converse with staff and community members regarding the scope of work, either on a 1-1 setting or in group/ presentation.
- Ability to connect and communicate with interpersonally with various groups of people
- Ability to build trust within relationships and keep information confidential
- Must be able to travel to Latino Network program sites, engage in in-person meetings and group gatherings
- Takes initiative and maintains proactive communication
- Ability to work weekends, late evenings, and flex work schedule as needed
- Excellent time management skills
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of c3/c4 compliance rules and regulations
- Experience using EveryAction and Voter Action Network (VAN) and campaign software such as ThruTalk, ThuText, Spoke
- Experience working on legislative work, issue, or political campaigns
- Experience managing staff or volunteers
