The Aquatics Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing the operations, services, staffing, and activities of the Aquatic Swim Lesson Program. Performance requires the ability to work independently with the safety and well-being of all participants in mind.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing, maintaining, and promoting district wide Aquatics Programs; with a focus on swim lessons.

• Maintain a safe pool environment which will include knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and action plans.

• Plan and coordinate mandatory in-service training; attend district-wide part-time staff orientations and crisis training as required.

• Assists with hiring and training instructional staff, keeping record of aquatics staff certifications and ensures all staff maintain certifications.

• Coordinates scheduling and supervises aquatics staff to provide proper program delivery.

• Assist in the preparation of marketing material for assigned program areas including the seasonal brochure, social media marketing, and other materials relating to the programs including but not limited to waivers, uniform order forms, etc.

• Gain knowledge of nation-wide and local trends in aquatics to ensure we are meeting programming needs.

• The work schedule will vary as required to fulfill the duties of the position, including weekend, evening, and holiday hours, and be available in case of an emergency.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.

• Minimum two years’ experience of swim instruction or related subject preferred.

• Requires strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate.

• LGI/W.S.I.T. certification preferred.

• First Aid/CPR/AED within 90 days of hire.

Work Environment:

The position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and seeing; flexibility in work schedule which includes days, nights, and weekends; is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions which may include varying weather conditions, and is subject to chlorinated water.
