Full Time Armed Security Guard (Thur-Sun, 8pm-6am)

Responsibilities

• Preventing illegal or inappropriate actions by maintaining a high visibility presence.
• Patrolling assigned buildings, facilities, and perimeters on foot or by a patrol vehicle.
• Maintain constant communication with clients and their employees by keeping all parties in the assigned area up to date on current policies and company rules.
• Monitoring alarm systems and video surveillance systems when an assigned site is permitted.
• Investigate and respond to suspicious activities and disturbances and inform the client and security management timely.
• Locking buildings, businesses and other designated areas per the clients needs.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, restraining trespassers if needed and according to SOP.
• Must be proficient in de-escalating techniques, self-defense tactics, verbal judo, etc.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Ensure the Security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
• Must be able to keep a positive attitude at all times while in uniform and on job sites.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards
• Able to coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during emergencies.

About the position:

Title: Armed Security Officer

• Location: Denver Metro Area
• Compensation- $20-$24 hourly, depending on qualifications
• We provide the required Shirts for the uniforms. The employee will have to provide shoes and pants and any other equipment they would like to carry, which is allowed for the job sites.
• Must have open availability
• Must be able to take shifts with short notice as needed

• The ideal candidates will have an upbeat demeanor, strong attention to detail, maintain a professional attitude and appearance, and EXCELLENT hospitality skills.
• Officers must have true open availability. Individuals with schedule restrictions are welcome to apply, but will only be considered for our standard Officer positions.
• Restrictions will be placed on the number of shifts that Officers can decline or call off from in a given period. Exceeding those restrictions will disqualify an individual from this position.

Armed Security Guard Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Denver Guard Card Preferred, But not Required. Must be able to obtain before starting work in the city limits of Denver.
• People with a strong background Law enforcement, Military, and Security are strongly encouraged to apply. Pay depends on experience.
• For Dispensary Armed sites, guards must have the following: Must have an active Denver Guard card, Active MED license (in the state of Colorado) and be willing work various shifts pertaining to the clients needs.
• Must be able to pass New Wave firearm training and qualifications.
• Must provide your own Body Armor, firearm, Duty Belt and Level 3 holster. New Wave Security only allows the following brands of Firearms: Sigs, Smith & Wesson, Springfield and Glock.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• The ability to stand for long periods, work in any weather, and sit, bend, and lift to 40 pounds, if not more, depends on the situation.
• Ability to work any and all shifts, Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends and Holidays.
• Extensive knowledge of deterring illegal activity and performing access control.
• In-depth knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment.
• Knowledge of security industry regulations.
• Experience in documenting security procedures and observations.
• Advanced ability to respond to security breaches and threats.
• Ability to inform personnel and visitors of security procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have a reliable, personal vehicle. (Public transportation does not access all sites, as needed for this position.)
• Must be able to handle stressful situations and emergencies
• Must be available a majority of the week and ready to work with the potential of little advanced schedule notice
• Must be at least 18 years of age. Pass a background check and drug screen.
