Associate Faculty Relations Manager
This position works under the direction of the Assistant to the Academic Vice President-Faculty (Faculty Relations Manager) and is an integral part of a mission-centric team that assists in hiring and maintaining the employment of faculty and athletic professionals and in protecting the university and its mission. This position aids academic and athletic professional leadership in handling personnel issues that arise in the course of employment and assists with accommodations and long-term disability processes.
Compensation: Depends on Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts formal university investigations pursuant to the university’s Non-discrimination and Equal Opportunity Policy as well as allegations related to other university policies.
- Assists leadership in the resolution of confirmed policy violations.
- Conducts campus wide Equal Opportunity trainings.
- Assists faculty and athletic professionals with accommodations as needed.
- Assists in evaluating faculty and athletic professional applicants for mission and role model fit.
What qualifies you for this critical role
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years experience in employment law, employee relations, human resources, management, or related field; Juris Doctorate degree strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong writing and editing experience
- Strong training, organizational and analytic skills
Preferred
- Juris Doctorate degree and active member of a state bar
- Prior experience conducting formal investigations
- Prior professional experience in academic setting
