Wynne Ford in Hampton has two openings for Experienced Team Leader Technicians!
Monday - Friday work week! No Saturdays!
Up to $10,000 Hiring Bonus!
Team Leader Responsibilities :
- Manage a team of technician’s overall work performance; monitor work in process, check completed work, and assist with difficult of unusual problems.
- Verify that the established standards of quality and volume of work are maintained.
- Ensure adherence to proper health and safety procedures, as well as all company policies; use corrective action, as necessary.
- Bring special personnel problems to the management’s attention.
- Function as the liaison between technicians and the management team.
- Enhance communications with service advisors to increase production.
- Hold daily team meetings to address work performance and work in process.
- Train new employees on policies and procedures.
- Coordinate online and in classroom training for each technician (STARS); track each technicians certification requirements.
- Assist in evaluation of new employees during their first 30 days of employment.
Technician Responsibilities :
- Perform a wide range of automotive service repairs including general maintenance, diagnostics, and recalls.
- Perform quality repair and maintenance work that meets dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Communicate and document recommended repairs and maintenance to service advisors.
- Provide advisors with documented repair and maintenance estimates.
- Perform a variety of tasks associated with completing, processing, and documenting warranty claims following Ford Warranty and Policy Guidelines.
- Document all completed repairs and maintenance following dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Stay current with Ford certification and training requirements (STARS).
Shop Maintenance Responsibilities :
- Evaluate shop tools, equipment, and work areas; complete repairs of shop items as needed or by requesting assistance from management.
- Identify where cleaning is needed; assure tasks are completed by responsible parties.
- Ensure special tools are returned to the tool room and the tool room is kept in order.
- Bring any specialty tool needs to the attention of service management.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with formal training in automotive service repair, plus 5-7 years of relevant technical experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are required.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable DMV record.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with advisors, technicians, customers, and management.
- Dealership service department experience preferred; A-B Level Technician required.
- Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, HVAC equipment, etc.
- Moderate computer, math, administrative, and customer relation skills.
