Position Summary: The Background Compliance Specialist acts as the first point of contact for Background Compliance inquiries, including email, mail, and phone, and processes compliance tasks such as copy requests, 613 letters and adverse action notices. The Background Compliance Specialist also assists Senior Compliance Specialists with consumer disputes, client credentialing, and internal and external audits and risk assessments as needed.

Qualifications required:
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion and propensity for compliance and accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong email and phone etiquette
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
Qualifications desired:
  • Thorough knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Experience working in a compliance or quality capacity within the Background Screening Industry
Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Answer compliance calls and emails in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Process adverse action notices on behalf of clients in accordance with the FCRA and state/local laws
  • Provide copies of consumer reports to consumers when requested and in compliance with the FCRA
  • Send 613 Letters to consumers for public records when applicable and in compliance with the FCRA
Nonessential skills and experience:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
