Career Opportunity:

The Baler is responsible for operating and maintaining Pneumatic Scrap System, and Baler System.

How you will impact WestRock:

• Feeds scrap sheets of board and cartons into the hopper.
• Moves bales from conveyor to proper holding area.
• Maintains Cutting Department floor clear of waste.
• Stages skids of die cut sheets for the trim removal area and moves skids of blanks to storage area.
• Assists jogging operator in moving material from warehouse/storage areas to jogger when necessary.
• Knocks out blanks (TRA).
• Maintains good housekeeping and performs work in a safe manner.
• Ensures all aspects of Waste Management Program are met.
• Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies work procedures, safety ruls, security procedures and instructions.
• Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.
• This position will help keep department in specs within all 5S and SQF guidelines, and immediately report any food safety concerns to management.

What you need to succeed:

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• 1- 2 years’ experience in work-related position, or manufacturing environment.
• Basic PC skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to comprehend written/oral communication along with effective listening.
• Work independently and within a team environment.
