Centrally located and set high above the Mississippi, our downtown hotel truly connects our guests with all St. Paul has to offer while we provide them with a luxurious stay. Our team members are loyal and dedicated, taking pride in providing our guests with a comfortable, memorable experience.

We are seeking a Bartender to join our team! Our Bartenders are responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and cleanup of bar area while providing outstanding customer service.

What you can bring to Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront:

• Make and serve drinks for guests following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls and company standards.
• Ring guest checks; collect cash and process credit card and room charges in the exact manner.
• Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
• Perform all side work duties according to schedules.
• Other duties as assigned by management

We are seeking candidates with:

• 1 year of previous bartending experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Understands and complies with state liquor laws.
• Able to accurately count cash, give change and operate a cash register.
• Scheduling flexibility is required - must be available afternoons, evenings, weekends & holidays.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to assess customers needs, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of overall customer satisifaction).
• Comfortable upselling to guests with basic knowledge of principles and methods of showing, promoting and selling products.
• Comfortable multi-tasking and can thrive in a high stress, fast-paced environment;
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Stellar communication and interpersonal skills, who are comfortable interacting with many types of personalities.
• Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Environment:

• Endure various physical movements, can comfortably lift at least 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and exert well placed mobility for up to 8 hours;
• Walking; moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another;
• Must be able to kneel, squat, bend, stoop and twist to perform job duties;
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Reach and pour bottles, reach for glasses
• Must have excellent hearing to hear guests and servers, drink order and questions
• Must have excellent vision to be able to handle cash, credit card transactions, view ID’s and to identify proper supplies and drink items
• Chemicals/agents used - Cleaning and sanitizing solutions for glassware and bar cleaning
