Job description
The Galileo School for Gifted Learning is a public charter school in Seminole County. Our mission is to offer innovative, research-based education in a nurturing environment for gifted and talented students and those who want to learn in a gifted learning environment that will challenge them to pursue their passionate interests in service to others.
The Galileo School is inviting application for the following position:
Behavior Technician: The Behavior Technician is responsible for the direct implementation of curriculum-based intervention and evaluation, academic/social/emotional/behavioral intervention, consultation and collaboration, assisting in the implementation of positive behavior support programs for students experiencing high magnitude behaviors, and crisis management. In addition, the Behavior Technician supports the school administrator as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for consideration:
- Complete at least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution
of higher education (i.e., community college, college, or university) OR
- Obtain an associate degree or higher OR
- Meet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through
a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, or reading readiness and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Gifted endorsement*
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or current enrollment
in school psychology program preferred.
- Three years of satisfactory teaching experience
- More than three years’ experience in school counseling in the state of Florida
- Experience with Response to Intervention (RtI), now the Multi-Tiered Support System.
Desired Start date: July 1, 2023

Salary: $16-$17 hourly for a full-time position with benefits during the 2023-2024 school year.
