ISAT Total Support /Tomarco is a leading provider of seismic engineering consulting services, and the related products and hardware used for nonstructural seismic bracing and the support of Mechanical, Electrical and Piping systems. Our focus is geared toward building utility systems within the commercial and industrial construction markets. Our primary focus includes but is not limited to, HVAC, mechanical, piping, distributed electrical systems, plumbing, process piping & fire protection contractors.

We have an Immediate Opening for a BIM Modeler. This position is for a seasoned draftsman with a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience, preferably with a piping background and misc. steel.

BIM Modeler Job Description:

Workload – Qualified BIM Modeler/CAD Designer is responsible for assisting the Custom Engineering Division. In that capacity, the role will include the following responsibilities: 1.) Provide drafting and design support with an emphasis on details/designs that are constructible, presentable, accurately cross-referenced, have a high degree of readability and contrast, simple to follow and understand, 2.) 2D & 3D CAD drafting, product development CAD support. 3.) Maintain and update standard CAD library both in electronic and hardcopy format 4.) Provide design and drafting support for the ISAT OPA manual. 5) Prepare detailed drawings for the manufacture of steel supports and misc. metals.

Ability – Detail non-standard conditions from the engineer’s drawings and calculations. Capable of creating shop drawings or review for coordination to engineered details. Understanding of standard shop practices.

Communication - Able to communicate in all forms of correspondence for tasks related to projects you are associated with. Communicate effectively; improve the company’s ability and knowledge by sharing creative solutions and ideas. Creating Transmittals, sending follow up emails after Coordination meetings, etc. Additionally, all such communication needs to be electronically documented in project folders, and CC'd to supervising PM.

3D Modeling and Coordination (Basic) Able to Model efficiently all seismic systems in Autocad and coordinate in Navisworks.

Develop a basic knowledge of the pertinent sections of the following building codes:

2000, 2003, 2006, and 2009 IBC/ASCE 7-02, & 05, 1998 CBC, 2001 CBC, 2007 CBC, 2012 IBC, and 2013 CBC.

Generate Professional 2D & 3D CAD details as necessary for inclusion in custom engineering packages. When a CAD detail is not feasible or not required perform hand draftsman quality drawings,

Construction Job Walks – Perform job walks on construction sites to gain a better understanding of customer issues and gather information.

Electronic MEP Files – Help facilitate in the plotting of electronic files (dwg, dwf, pdf, .tiff, etc.)

Special Consideration: To candidates who possess a working knowledge of the following: basic building construction, including engineering terms, drawings, and trade-specific experience. Revit, Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD MEP, CADMep, CADDuct, Dynamic Blocks, DCL, Navisworks
