Job Purpose
Conduct audits in the area of Bingo gaming operations and Tax Exempt Organizations acting as sponsors of Bingo. This position is part of our Field Operations Division, who encourage compliance by educating taxpayers and completing fair and objective audits. Their work helps ensure tax equity for all South Carolina taxpayers.

Job Duties
  • Conduct audits of Bingo operations to determine compliance and prepare reports which disclose the scope, issues, and results of the audit.
  • Conduct audits of Tax Exempt Organizations who hold a bingo license in SC to determine how distribution funds received from the Department are being used by the Distribution Audit Program.
  • Conduct annual audits of Gambling Vessels to verify the accuracy of the monthly reports submitted to the SCDOR to determine compliance.
  • Confer with license holders and/or their legal representatives in regards to completed audits.
  • Give occasional assistance in litigation of Bingo cases.

Requires one of the following:
  • An associate's degree and experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or tax preparation/analysis
  • A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the work experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • College transcript required for consideration. Transcripts may be attached to the application or emailed to Employment.SCDOR@dor.sc.gov
  • May be required to travel outside of assigned areas
