Salary Range: $61,500-$80,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Cancer Biostatistics program at Columbia University Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) has 1 open position for a Biostatistician.

Responsibilities

Implement statistical methods and perform statistical programming.

Conduct consultation with clinicians and researchers regarding experimental and clinical design, data analysis, and power analysis.

Assist in the preparation of grant applications, conference abstracts, and manuscripts for publication purposes.

Adapting and developing new statistical/machine learning methods to analyze omics data.

Collaboration with clinical data teams as trials are being run on the collection and verification of patient data.

Assisting in the statistical response to requests or questions by protocol or publication review boards.

Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 3 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in statistics or biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.

Other Requirements

Good methodology training in statistics/biostatistics and strong programming skills, in particular R and SAS, in addition to data analysis experience.

Experience and skills with biomedical and clinical studies, particularly, observational studies, health outcome research, EHR databases, or omics data analysis are desirable.

Depending on the experience, a manager title associated with this position for the cancer biostatistics group will also be considered.
