JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the delivery of exceptionally high quality service to internal and external members. Oversees the development of highly effective team of employees and develops each employee to their highest potential. Ensures that all branch employees effectively identify members' needs and recommend credit union solutions in alignment with the credit union's mission. Maintains responsibility for planning, directing and overseeing the operational activities of staff and ensures compliance with all established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS

- Demonstrates comprehensive excellence in all areas of branch management: operations, community development, sales and service.
- Committed to mentoring Branch Manager 1s in all areas of branch management, coaching them to identify areas of opportunity and develop plans for improvement; sustains open communication with VP of Member Services in order to maintain continuity of coaching.
- Works closely with Vice President of Member Services to identify sales and marketing opportunities throughout branch network and formulate action plans to exploit them.
- Handles wider variety of escalated member issues that come into Member Services department, not only those directly related to the home branch.
- Promotes an enthusiastic sales and service culture within the branch to ensure team members focus on VCCUs; maintains employees focus on members needs and increasing member engagement by proactively offering products and services which will meet their needs in a superior manner.
- Develops a highly effective team through effective training and coaching that keeps employees engaged, motivated and enabled to achieve assigned goals.
- Attracts new members, primarily from but not limited to within the assigned market area; prospects for new membership relationships through professional networking events and membership development activities within the community.
- Maintains and fosters branch participation in community events in support of promoting awareness and growth.
- Ensures daily branch operations are conducted in accordance with established credit union policies as well as all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations; monitors all internal policy and procedure controls to safeguard the funds and assets of VCCU.
- Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization; proactively plans, monitors and reports branch's performance.
- Addresses and resolves escalated member concerns and inquiries.
- Oversees on-going training of branch employees on credit union products and services.
- Manages all human resource processes for designated branch, including interviews, appraisals, disciplinary actions, individual development plans, career development, timecard approvals.
- Reviews branch's staffing models when attrition occurs in order to make recommendations for potential modifications.
- Manages relationships between branch and support department employees to ensure collaboration in meeting shared company objectives; fosters positive, open communication between branch employees and throughout organization.
- Ensures branch effectively collaborates with and supports sales partners (Wealth Advisors, Mortgage Loan Officers, and Business Development Officers).
- Develops and implements effective marketing plans specific to assigned location and ensures branch merchandising is kept current.
- Ensures that the physical maintenance and overall appearance of the branch facility is satisfactorily maintained at all times.
- Maintains effective oral and written communication skills when interacting with internal and external members, as well as those within the designated community.
- Manages branch budget, including salaries and overtime expenses.
- Oversees branch security, safety and loss prevention procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Oversees responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTAIN A FIDELITY BOND
- A two-year college degree, Associate's degree, or two years college education is required. Four-year college degree preferred.
- Five years management experience, at least two as a Branch Manager in a financial institution, is required. Experience to include financial product sales, financial services operations, and lending.
- Previous experience with Symitar Episys is desirable.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services. Must be able to operate all basic office equipment and must be PC literate with Windows applications. Must have a thorough knowledge of the Credit Union electronic data processing system.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, clients, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Could be required to become a notary public. This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The person in the position must communicate constantly with members in order to convey information about their transaction and you must be able to exchange accurate information with them. You are occasionally required to traverse across the office/lobby to access vaults or files. You will constantly operate computer equipment using a keyboard, 10 touch keypads and other like office equipment to accurately calculate figures, input data and to count money. You will sometimes have to ascend/descend or position yourself to crouch or kneel for items on the floor. The employee must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to look up and out for security acceptance of cash, coin, checks, and securities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however with Branches that have coin machines, the noise level may increase.
