The Budtender / Retail Sales Associate is an entry level, non- management position with the opportunity for growth and advancement within the company.

Budtender’s are responsible for greeting patients face to face as well as on the telephone; answering questions regarding cannabis strains, medicinal uses and methods of consumption. Additional tasks include processing patient sales via POS system, cash handling, inventory management, shelf stocking and keeping the dispensary clean and welcoming.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication and customer service skills with a passion for Cannabis and its diverse uses.
Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Greeting patients and advising them on suitable cannabis products based on their individual needs, preferences and budgets.
  • Processing patient payments using the point of sale system, handling and accurately counting cash.
  • Taking inventory of the products on the sales floor, stocking shelves and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Being knowledgeable in cannabis law to ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

In order to apply for the Budtender position, you must be a Maine resident, over the age of 21 and be able to pass a Maine MMCP background check.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person as well as over the telephone.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Must thrive in a team setting and take direction well.
  • Have prior work experience in a retail sales environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of cannabis strains, products and consumption methods.
  • Is punctual, reliable, professional and trainable.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to lift 50lbs unaided.
  • Maintain patient privacy as required in MMMP program rules and HIPPA.

The schedule for this position is 4.5 days per week, each shift is 9 hours with a one hour unpaid lunch break.

You must be available on weekends and some holidays.

The pay range for this position is $16 - $18 per hour, tips can increase the hourly wage by $1- $4/ per hour
