General Qualifications:

Individual must have a cheerful, positive, helpful attitude; must be mentally and physically capable of performing duties related to cleaning and maintenance of the church facilities and grounds and to supervising the work of the custodial staff; must be able to delegate effectively; must have knowledge of equipment and products used in performance of duties; must have knowledge of and implement safety requirements relating to responsibilities; and must have the initiative to complete work assignments with a minimum of supervision. High school diploma or GED certificate required. This person reports to the managing secretary and the pastors.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure completion of the day-to-day maintenance of church facilities and grounds necessary to maintain a clean, professional, and inviting environment.
• Provide logistical support (set-up and cleaning) for church functions as well as special activities, such as weddings, receptions, and funerals.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs of church facilities.
• Maintain church grounds, including but not limited to mowing, mulching, raking, weeding, seeding, trimming, and pruning.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hand and power equipment tools used in lawn care.
• Assist with the upkeep of the Meditation Garden when required.
• Supervise the custodial staff, and assist them in performing their duties as needed.
• Report promptly any issues/problems relating to church facilities or property that need the attention of the Board of Trustees.
