ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Your primary role as a Building Automation Systems Software Engineer will consist of designing graphical user interfaces and implementing points and programs for new and existing Schneider Electric based building automation systems. In this position, you will learn to design GUI’s with vector-based graphics to display the operation of HVAC equipment in a building. You will also learn to implement programs using plain English coding. You will be trained to understand the basic operations of HVAC equipment such as, rooftop units, air handlers, unit ventilators, heating and cooling plants, etc.

Your duties will include:

· Designing graphical user-interfaces for building automation systems.

· Creating points and programs based on sequences of operation to control/monitor HVAC equipment.

· Upgrading our clients older existing building automation systems with new and current software.

· Using remote connection software to log into client’s automation systems.

· Assisting field-technicians.

· Responding to emergency calls as needed.

· Forming positive relationships with customers and fellow technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

· Minimum bachelor’s degree in Building Automation Technology, or Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software quickly.

· Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Pride of workmanship and a passion for customer service.
  • Devise solutions, exercise independent judgement, and make appropriate decisions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
