    POSITION: Bus Driver – Weld Re-8 Schools (Class B CDL Driver) ; starts in early August. Training provided.

    HOURLY RATE RANGE: $15.23/hr.– $27.49/hr depending on previous work experience.
    Position is 5.50 hrs. – 6.50 hrs. /173-Days depending on route driven. PAID CDL Training provided.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
    • Applicant must be 21 years of age
    • Good driving record required (submit Motor Vehicle Record with application)
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
    • Pass DOT medical examination and pre-employment controlled substance testing
    • Pass required Commercial Driver License written examinations (Class B with P2S Endorsement)
    • Pass the Adverse Weather and Mountain Driving State Written Exams
    • Pass the Colorado Dept. Of Education School Bus Drivers Rules and Regulations Exam
    • Pass Random Controlled Substance Testing
    • Pass Annual recertification testing
    • Applicant must have the ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions
    • Ability to work in school setting or with school age children preferred – must like kids!
    • Experience driving truck/bus or operating heavy equipment a plus. Paid CDL Training is provided

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Performs Pre/Post trip inspections on school bus
    • Drives Morning and afternoon Route
    • Cleans buses as needed
    • Keeps inspection and driver logs
    • Knowledge of School safety policies and procedures
    • Uses positive verbal and non-verbal skills when working with school personnel and community members at all times
    • Respond to emergencies
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • Bus driver hours may vary on student instructional days per student calendar. Additional hours available at times for field trips, activity trips (sports, band, clubs), etc.
    • All employee agreements for new hire personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education. Direct deposit is a condition of employment.
    • No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re 8 buildings.
    • Selected applicant must comply with the District's Drug-Free Workplace policy, DOT physical and drug screening
    • As required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the selected applicant must verify, within 72 hours
    • of employment, his/her legal right to be employed in the United States.
