Job Description


In this role, you are responsible for developing strategies, action plans, and relationships to influence the specification and purchase of Bosch product offerings within the assigned vertical market of Government.

This position will be tasked to build and foster strategic relationships and alliances with key decision makers, fuel brand awareness and expand market share with end-users, primes, and key integration partners for government applications. The role of Business Development Manager will require you to be a subject matter expert in technology integration to include VMS platforms, access control systems, intrusion and fire solutions.

This is a national role; as a Business Development Manager, you will work remotely (home office), and can anticipate travel across the US of approximately 50-70%. Location of home office is flexible - anywhere in the US, with the ability to travel on a regular basis.

  • Primary contact for all Department of Defense & Department of Homeland Security.
  • Manage team for all federal government-based business nationwide.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop target clients by business potential and/or industry influence.
  • Generate, follow-up and win projects leads in defined region and focus vertical.
  • Recognize and capitalize on new and existing market opportunities.
  • Attend industry and trade association meetings; support PR activities.
  • Call upon all potential specifiers, influencers, and decision-makers within assigned Government/Contractor accounts.
  • Present, discuss, adjust and follow-up on technical/commercial solutions with potential specifiers, influencers, and decision-makers.
  • Gather and provide feedback on product requirements, market tends, customer/end-user needs to internal stake holders.
  • Ensure that all discussions with potential clients and industry function related appearance conform to stated business objectives and Bosch Security Systems guidelines.
  • Develop new revenue pipelines (CRM), fostering strategic relationships and alliances, drive customer demand through customer focused strategies.
  • Create vertical market sales kit of reference material and use cases.

Qualifications


Requires 3-5 years Security industry (IP video) experience, working with customers, preferably from the manufacturer level. 5+ years preferred.

Past/current experience within Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security highly desired. Experience with systems integration, AI, predictive analytics, and program management in government applications a plus. Project performance, support, and a verifiable relationships with key stakeholders in government including end users, integrators, primes, and consultants. This is a customer facing position requiring a high degree of professionalism, communication skills, and a passion for driving innovation.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Can-do attitude.
  • Must possess strong presentation skills.
  • Verifiable customer relationship management skills in government
  • Strong knowledge of government compliance, regulation, and laws, including data/cyber security directives
  • Requires self-motivated individual with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Willingness to travel on a national basis.
  • Good working knowledge and experience in the design and installation of IP/IT products, primarily video but also including IFAS, professional audio, and communications products.
  • Industry affiliations and certification a plus.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field, marketing, management or related is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing social media and other marketing techniques to fuel brand awareness and expand market share is a plus

Additional Information


The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$160,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
