Job Description

Division of Plant Science and Technology (DPST) is seeking a Business Support Specialist to join our fiscal team.

This position will work directly with our Business Support Specialist II and will be trained to share responsibilities for:

Accounts Payable:

  • Review and approval of all one card expense reports, travel imbursement expense reports, SMS ePro requisitions, non-PO vouchers and PO requisitions
  • Process internal service entry, correcting Entry and transfer journal entry
  • Submit one card applications, limit changes and cancellations
  • University Shared Services handle all our payables transactions, this person will be the contact for DPST folks and the University Shared Services staff
  • Assist with PO especially for those amount over $100,000 or complicated ones
  • Track all pending payable transactions

Accounts Receivable:

  • Record and track lab payment for a lab
  • Run credit card payment for lab customers
  • Log all the incoming checks and ensure they are compliant to the university policy
  • Reconcile all gift checks

Grants Management:

  • Provide assistance with online ordering and OneCard reconciliation for two specific projects
  • Provide expense tracking and information for reporting back to funding agencies as needed for two specific projects

Others:

  • Reconcile and bill DPST departments for the visitor parking fees, vehicle usage data and copiers usage
  • Rate review for recharge accounts
  • Remain compliant with university and sponsor regulations and policies for Accounts Receivable/Payables
  • Communicate regularly with DPST faculty, staff and student employees on the proper documentation needed for business transactions and provide some trainings

Salary

$15.75 - $27.42 per hour.

University Title: Business Support Specialist II

Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
