Hydraulics International, Inc (HII) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer I responsible for purchasing raw materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for the manufacturing operations. This includes managing the purchasing process from vendor selection to delivery of goods. The Buyer I must have a strong understanding of purchasing principles, market trends, and supplier management.

Performance Deliverables:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible price and delivery terms
  • Create and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery and quality of goods
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for production
  • Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery of goods
  • Evaluate and approve invoices and delivery documents to ensure accurate payment
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their requirements and communicate with suppliers accordingly
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet production and cost goals
  • Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes to ensure efficiency and cost savings
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and new products to ensure the company is competitive in the market

Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field

1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of ERP systems and purchasing software is a plus
