JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities:
- Reviews requisitions for accuracy.
- Obtains price quotations for materials, equipment, and/or services as requested by County departments.
- Processes requisitions into purchase orders; Reviews and modifies purchase orders.
- Provides public relations assistance in dealing with vendors and other departments; inputs vendor information.
- Tracks or monitors budget expenditures.
- Resolves purchase order/contract disputes and discrepancies related to delivery, shipment, compliance, etc.
- Assists end users on financial system; Assists other departments in problem solving; Assists and/or instructs other employees with their duties.
- Tracks and coordinates problems and resolutions as they relate to contract terms and conditions due to vendor’s failure to meet specification of term contract.
- Resolves and investigates buyer messages and AP reconciliation messages in the financial system software.
- Receives, verifies and maintains vendor insurance certificates.
- Processes requests for creation, approval, and distribution through the enterprise content management (ECM) system.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- Assists with special projects and requests from Assistant Purchasing Agent.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- One (1) year procurement experience required. Public sector preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong verbal, written communication, math, accounting skills and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of Lawson Financial System and OnBase Electronic Content Management System preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $21.64 - $27.05 hourly based on qualifications
