Buyer/Planner

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Elkhart, IN within the automotive supply industry.

Buyer/Planner Job Summary:

· $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary

· 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday

· Responsible for procuring raw materials, components, tooling, equipment and purchased services at the appropriate quality, lowest price and within an acceptable time frame

· Negotiate agreements with suppliers to attain acceptable quality, lowest price, and timely deliveries

· Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles and products with attention to specified target market and demographics

· Maintains contact with all markets and vendors from which the company procures goods or services

· Manage major purchase contracts which are over $50,000 in value or are of a duration greater than twelve months

Buyer/Planner Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or related field preferred

· Minimum of two years of direct purchasing experience

· ERP experience preferred

· APICS certification desirable

· Import experience a plus

· Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts as they relate to distribution
