CAD Operator

Duties for a CAD Operator include assembling construction drawing packages following engineering designs. The CAD operator would be responsible for completing drawing packages for review and issued for construction, plus updates following design installation (as-builts). CAD Operators utilize various computer programs and complete reporting and tracking of engineering standards.

CAD Operator Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares drawings of systems for basic electrical and grounding equipment (pipeline cathodic protection systems).
  • Revise drawings and markups appropriately following package reviews.
  • Develop detail standards and work methodologies.
  • Creating and modifying detailed drawings based on data.
  • Prepares accurate detailed drawings from engineering designs.
  • Update equipment and building drawings and documents.
  • Track and monitor engineering and design changes.
  • Develop layouts, drawings, and designs.
  • Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards.
  • Integrate GPS data following construction (as-builts).
  • Prepare documents, reports, or job aids related to work, equipment, and safety.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What is Required?

  • Minimum of 2 years of CAD experience.
  • Preferred Associates degree in Drafting, Design or Engineering.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred,
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with GIS preferred.
  • Google Earth, Pictometry or similar aerial imagery experience preferred.
  • Exhibits great attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, problem solver and can manage multiple tasks.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
