Job Title: Care Representative
Department/Program: Duane Deane Behavioral Center
Reports to: Supervisor/Clinical Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility is meeting clients at the front desk, verifying, identifying, ticketing and routing for services needed or other needs. An individual with a professional demeanor, capable of fast accurate work, handle confidential information, juggle multiple tasks while remaining calm and friendly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Greet and check-in patients/clients.
  • Answer telephones, direct calls to appropriate staff, and send confidential e-mail messages.
  • Enter patient/client data information into electronic systems within a timely fashion.
  • Make copies and file confidential documents.
  • Gather, verify, and update insurance information.
  • Schedule, confirm appointments, check-ups, and referrals.
  • As needed may review medical records to ensure completeness and file information appropriately.
  • Inventory for supplies at the clinic.
  • Assisting with the Welcome Center and Livingroom as needed
  • Assisting with the Food Pantry as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:

The individual must be able to successfully perform essential functions of this job including carrying charts to and from their offices/desk. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. There may be occasions that call for an employee to carry out duties at other agency offices. Traveling to and from meetings is required as necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A prospective staff member must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 2 years of customer service or medical office experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in working with culturally-diverse, low-income clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows, the Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and general data entry.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience and maturity in a busy multi-tasked business environment.
  • Able to prioritize.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to organization’s mission.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English at a business level.
  • Excellent interpersonal telephone and written skills.
  • Discretion and professionalism with confidential materials.
  • Must pass a pre-employment TB Test and background check.
