This position is responsible for greeting all customers as they enter the store. Receiving payments and issuing receipts, keeping track of all cash and credit transactions through a POS system. Customer Service oriented position with the ability to serve our customers with a warm smile and friendly attitude.

· Greets and assists customers with multiple tasks in a friendly manner.
· Utilizes strong customer service skills to ensure customer needs are met.
· Ensure the register and entrance area are clean, organized and running smoothly throughout their shift.
· Utilizes mathematical skills during customer transactions through our POS system.
General Job Description
· Greets customers as they enter the store with a smile and warm greeting.
· Ensures music is playing at a proper volume throughout the store before the start of their shift.
· Assists customers with any questions or concerns. Calls for other store departments or management if they need further assistance.
· Receives payments, issues receipts, keeps track of all cash and credit transactions through a POS system.
· Ensures proper discounts are applied to purchases such as Senior and Military, Employee and Volunteer as well as weekly sale discounts.
· Ensures glassware is wrapped and bagged properly as to not break. Folds and places items nicely in customer’s bag.
· Inspects items to ensure customer is aware of any snags, tears, stains, broken parts, etc. and ensures DVD’s and CDs include the item inside the case.
· Invites customers to be added to our email list and participate in weekly and monthly promotions.
· Prepares small and large shopping bags throughout the day, placing them inside the drawer.
· Unfolds donated newspaper for easy access for wrapping glassware.
· Ensure the screens and registers are cleaned properly, with the microfiber cloths provided.
· Ensures register area is clean and tidy, as well as the entrance of the store, front door, Jewelry area and Lamp area. Vacuuming and dusting as necessary.
· Calls for price checks from store departments as necessary throughout the day. As well as management for customer service, furniture deliveries & later pick-ups, and change as needed.
· Makes announcement of store closing time starting at 4 pm, then every 10 minutes, as to give customers ample time to complete their shopping experience and check-out in a timely manner.
· Communicates any discrepancies or issues to management at the end of their shift.
· Keeps an eye on customers that may appear to be loitering and alerts management.
· Responsible for the customer’s restroom key, ensuring customers are not bringing unpaid for items into the restroom for any reason, and checking the restroom throughout the day and alerting management of any cleanliness issues.
· Vacuums and/or sweeps register area, entrance and jewelry and lamp area either at the beginning or end of their shift.
· Places the items that customers decided not to purchase back on the sales floor.
Skills and Qualifications
· Cash handling experience as well as basic math skills.
· Ability to obtain a strong product knowledge and understating of customer base.
· Friendliness, attention to detail, strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills.
· Must posses a valid FL driver's license.
