The Saint Paul Hotel in Downtown St. Paul is hiring immediately for a Catering Sales Manager.

The Catering Sales Manager works with clients from initial inquiry through event execution, providing event coordination and hospitality with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follows up on inquiries and consistently communicates policies, procedures, pricing, and contract specifications to clients. Continuously provides updates as needed.
• Arranges and oversees client tastings and disseminates gathered information to culinary staff.
• Ensures rooms are set to standard and food and beverages are displayed as ordered.
• Plans and coordinates all event details with clients and facility department heads.
• Serves as event coordinator and/or convention advisor during events.
• Recruits, trains and manages the daily work of catering service staff. Monitors payroll and controls labor costs.
• Manages the cleanliness, maintenance, and security of equipment, storerooms, and catering outlets.
• Participates in marketing and promotional efforts and upselling tactics to grow the business.

Job Requirements:

• 3 years of related catering sales or coordinating experience and/or training.
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally work additional or odd hours to meet the needs of the clients.
• Degree in hospitality or business management preferred.
• Food protection manager certification preferred.
• Alcohol service certification preferred.
