This position is located on the campus of the State University of New York at Old Westbury. Employment, payroll and benefits are through and subject to the Research Foundation for SUNY policies and procedures. The Research Foundation for SUNY is a private educational corporation.

SUNY Old Westbury is seeking a Project Coordinator/Recruiter for a Department of Education Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) grant. This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position. The position is grant funded until September 30, 2025.

The Project Coordinator is responsible to provide veteran students with comprehensive curricular and co-curricular planning, college process and resource navigation that augments existing academic supports, career planning and development, and connections to community and campus veteran supports. The Coach works to counsel, motivate, advise, and assess student needs, goals, and interests to ensure academic success and improve retention and completion results.

The Project Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate and promote the activities of the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success.
  • Be responsible for project planning, development, administration, and evaluation.
  • Create partnerships with external organizations to both support and recruit veteran students.
  • Coordinate with enrollment services to recruit and admit veteran students to meet target goals.
  • Work closely with Veteran Affairs Coordinator and CEVSS Student Success Coach.
  • Coordinate with the campus community to connect students to academic, personal, financial, career and other college resources.
  • Design and coordinate student programming and student support initiatives for veteran student populations.
  • Supervise student workers
  • Perform other duties as required.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Three years of experience in higher education
  • Strong relationship-building and networking
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and barriers facing veterans' population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in higher education.
  • Knowledge of admissions and recruitment.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: Salary is $50,000 (annualized) and includes a benefit package.
