Club Facts and Information

The Ford Field & River Club (“The Ford”) is a private sporting community of elegant homes, incredible natural beauty, and extraordinary amenities 18 miles southeast of Savannah in Richmond Hill, GA. The property consists of 1,800 acres along the Ogeechee River and includes an 18-hole Pete Dye designed golf course, a deep-water marina, golf clubhouse, multiple dining facilities, equestrian center, fitness center, spa, three Har-Tru tennis courts and two pickleball courts, two pools, and miles of hiking trails. The Ford Main House is the focal piece of this sporting club community, which was built in the
1930s, was Henry Ford’s winter estate home. The Club’s first-class amenities are member owned and virtually debt free.
The six distinct neighborhoods are sensitively developed. Of the 400 single family homes planned, about 180 homes are built to date with much activity with new construction. The neighborhood plan encourages a sense of community and preserves the estate’s wooded parklands and scenic vistas. Architectural guidelines encourage the friendly scale and unpretentious elegance of small-town coastal Georgia and historic homes like The Main House. Current membership stands at approximately
280, with an additional 1,000+ legacy/family memberships.

Position

The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the GM/COO and the executive team to make decisions regarding the company’s financial strategy and operations.
The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management.

Key attributes, characteristics, and style of the successful new leader includes:

  • Extensive knowledge of all accounting functions, preferably in a private club environment.
  • Excellent service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Superior leadership and management skills; awareness of employee’s needs in order to facilitate productivity and create a harmonious working environment.
  • Data analysis and report preparation, using key industry benchmarks and resources.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills in English both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and members.
  • Demonstrated team and collaborative skills, and a history of creating a positive working environment.
  • A history of proactive financial leadership and innovation with a ‘solutions-minded’ approach to his/her work.

Responsibilities

  • Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to GM/COO
  • Support the financial planning and analysis efforts
  • Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions
  • Manage relationships with banks

Qualifications

  • Individual should have a degree in accounting and preferably Private Club/Hospitality Industry experience
  • Individual should be experienced in managing an Accounting and Finance Department
  • Individual should possess good communication skills both oral and written
  • Degree in Accounting or advanced degree preferred, as would be CPA certification
  • At least 7-10 years’ financial experience, including controllership
  • Club Essential Software experience a plus; prior Club software knowledge

  • Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The club, along with the typical HFTP benefits, offers an excellent bonus and benefit package.
