The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering (https://cce.byu.edu/) at Brigham Young University seeks applications from highly qualified candidates for a full-time continuing-faculty-status track position in the area of construction management.

Located in a new engineering building equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, the department benefits from generous annual capital equipment and supplies funding, an annual travel budget, exceptional teaching resources available through the Center for Teaching and Learning (https://ctl.byu.edu/), substantial funds for student teaching assistants, extensive software access, acclaimed international study abroad programs, internal university funding for mentored research for both graduate and undergraduate students, interdisciplinary collaboration with many other departments, exceptional support from the Research Administration Office (https://rao.byu.edu/), and impactful research programs with extensive external funding. The Construction and Facilities Management program provides construction-related curriculum and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in Construction and Facilities Management as well as Civil Engineering. The successful candidate should be able to teach a broad spectrum of construction management classes. The candidate must demonstrate an ability and commitment to high-quality teaching, mentorship, and research. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in the area(s) of expertise
  • Developing a strong, externally funded research program wherein both graduate and undergraduate students are mentored, and research results are published in top journals
  • Participating in service opportunities within the department, college, and university, as well as making significant contributions to professional societies and the construction profession

An earned doctorate is required. Construction related industry experience is preferred.
