Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Documentation Specialist position within our Quality & Compliance Department. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive and clinically sound documentation training for staff.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Job ResponsibilitiesProvides training to staff in various areas of clinical documentation requirements in accordance with standards and best practices and ensures documentation is appropriate, timely and demonstrates quality.Monitors the accuracy of staff skills learned in collaboration with program coordinators/managers and the quality and compliance department.Develops and maintains a clinical documentation training calendar based on departmental requests and organizational needs.Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm; Evening & Weekend hours may be required based on program needs

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Skills and QualificationsAbility to maintain broad-based, current knowledge of clinical documentation standards to include billing codes.Knowledge of relevant organizational policies and procedures as well as licensing and accreditation requirements as it relates to training and clinical documentation.Ability to monitor the accuracy of staff skills learned in collaboration with program coordinators/managers and the quality and compliance department.Experience with clinical documentation and electronic health records required. Valid driver’s license is required. Associates Degree in Human Services or related field required.Bachelor’s Degree preferred.One year of instructional training experience in corporate, healthcare or educational settings preferred.DMV record must be submitted with application.
