Purpose

The Clinical Pharmacist manages the drug distribution and specialty pharmacy activities for a variety of patients enrolled at PANTHERxâ„¢ Rare Pharmacy. The role is also responsible for safe and efficient methods for coordination of specialty pharmacy policy concerning drug patient care and provides clinical drug information to meet the needs of the patient and their healthcare team. In addition, the Pharmacist is also responsible for managing pharmacy technicians and other supporting roles on a daily basis and reports to the RxARECARE Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Completes verification of prescription drug orders for completeness
  • Communicate with prescriber offices for order clarification and coordination of care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
  • Communicate with patients regarding prescribed therapies, both specialty and non-specialty, to improve patient compliance and adherence
  • Facilitation of prior authorizations and enrollment of patients in financial assistance programs
  • Verification of prescription orders during prescription fulfillment process
  • Supervision of pharmacy technicians and other support staff during course of daily activities
  • Responsible for performing clinical pharmacist duties during on-call hours on a rotating basis
  • Additional projects and activities as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist
  • 2-4 years of specialty pharmacy experience
