Clinical Supervisor - Youth Care Transition
Job description
For a leader with relevant clinical experience who comes at difficult problems in new ways, Nexus FACTS has a unique opportunity to build and lead a one-of-a-kind treatment team. Nexus FACTS seeks an experienced clinical leader for its new, grant funded Youth Care Transition (YCT) Team Clinical Supervisor position for our innovative Youth Care Transition (YCT) program. This program supports teens at psychiatric residential treatment facilities and hospitals with higher levels of mental and/or behavioral health needs who are ready to move back to their family homes or other appropriate community environments.
Primary responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management oversight of assigned programs and ensure excellence in program compliance, performance, and outcomes
- Supervise compliance with clinical aspects of service agreements, contracts, and licensing and regulation requirements, and ensure that the site exceeds the requirements of all licensing, contracting and accrediting bodies
- Develop and support internal systems to ensure that good, ethical supervision is occurring
- Oversee the clinical aspects of quality assurance (i.e. outcomes data and productivity) and ensure quality and timeliness of the clinical documentation for the service
- Supervise service participation in the client electronic medical record for accuracy, timeliness, and changes as necessary
- Approve admissions and client intakes, transfers, completions, and discharges from our service
- Ivestigate and respond to problems in the areas of referrals, intakes and discharges
- Initiate, identify and analyze potential or current problems or risk factors with the service and generate alternative solutions/sound decisions
- Develop systems to track and monitor treatment outcomes, safety, and risk related indicators
- Maintain compliance of all relevant billing platforms/resources
- Creates and drives a trauma-informed program
Develop program systems, grow program capacity, and implement all components of the treatment service, (individual, family, and group therapy), and ensure that services are consistent with evidence informed practices.
- Develop, implement and maintain operational and clinical program procedures and systems that support efficient and effective delivery of treatment services to clients and their families per agency treatment guidelines/protocols
- Continually monitor the effectiveness of the treatment models and proactively implement improvements and enhancements as warranted
- Ensure that all therapy and skills work is conducted per established standards and that all services are documented
- Develop service standards and operational systems and grow program capacity
Participate as a leading member in developing and implementing assessments, treatment plans, and strategies that will maximize therapeutic effectiveness, as well as select, train, develop staff
- Ensure minimum billable hours are met
- Facilitate weekly scheduled staff meetings incorporating all staff
- Actively participate in the interview and selection process for employees and interns, as needed, in compliance with agency hiring requirements and policies and procedures
- Supervise and participate in the formal process to orient, mentor, train and develop both employees and interns (Master’s level), according to agency standards, the service delivery model, and credentialing guidelines
- Ensure confidentiality regarding client and families’ issues and treatment and comply with Nexus policies involving client privacy and confidentiality
Maintain appropriate census, as well as site budget/expenses, to ensure the program and agency’s revenue goals are achieved
- Maintain appropriate systems to effectively manage and control expenses, making adjustments as necessary to maintain the service budget
- Participate in the yearly budgeting process and make necessary changes to meet service growth needs
- Oversee the management of service billing for timeliness and accuracy
- Ensure that adequate staffing meets the demands of service referrals as well as budgetary constraints
Develop and foster positive relations with internal and external stakeholders
- Work effectively with and establish a collaborative working relationship with other Nexus departments and support service
- Work effectively with key individuals, departments, and agencies, who use or may use Nexus services.
- Serve as a representative of Nexus in public relations situations including professional gatherings and educational conferences
- Build and market the program and clientele through community outreach
Required Education and Licensure:
- Master's degree in Social Services, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or clinically related field required
- Experience in adolescent, adult, and family-based behavioral counseling and/or residential experience required
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience in adolescent, adult and family-based behavioral counseling and/or residential experience preferred
- Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred
- Licensure preferred
Travel:
Occasional business travel to business offices or company sponsored events may be required.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a mental health treatment environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
Expected Hours of Work:
Work schedules and hours are variable and expected to meet the needs of the business to include days, evenings, and weekends. Hours maybe identified and communicated by management.
