- Hours: 40hrs
- Shift: Day shift; M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm
- Location: Southcoast Business Center – Fairhaven, MA
We are searching for a Clinical Support Educator to perform a wide variety of duties in the staff educator role both within and in support of Southcoast Physicians Group. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to education, quality, and staff development of medical assistants (MA) and paramedics. Assist with orientation, onboarding, and MA certification. Establish an environment for staff that facilitates professional growth, role competency and proficiency utilizing evidence-based practice. Identify educational gaps by performing rounding in the care sites. Review, measure and evaluate current clinical knowledge, proficiency of technical skills, applications of critical thinking and clinical performance of each member of the Care Team. Assist with the planning, organizing and implementing of orientation and ongoing educational programs for clinical support personnel. Participate in the policy and procedure committee and assist with the revision of policies and procedures on a regular and/or as needed basis. Support operational teams in quality and patient safety improvement activities. May facilitate quality improvement initiatives and represent care sites on committees. Provide functional or technical supervision of assigned personnel within areas of own position responsibilities where scope of supervisory responsibility is limited to direction, guidance, explanation, etc.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent medical office practice experience or paramedic license is required.
- Must maintain competency within areas of own position responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Three (3) years to (5) years of relevant experience is required.
- Demonstrated education experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- EMR experience required. Epic experience preferred.
- Experience in ambulatory care/practice setting preferred.
- Must be comfortable speaking to larger audiences
- National third-party Medical Assistant certification, such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification) required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required. Must also complete the AHA BLS Instructor Course and receive certification when offered by Southcoast Health.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
