The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes is seeking a 100% time Clinical Trials Research Assistant/Data Manager. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated research assistant to support our pediatric endocrinology research programs focused on Turner syndrome. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing research data, recruiting study participants with Turner syndrome, and assisting in the maintenance and submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials. This is a specified term position.


Duties to include:

  • Work collaboratively with the research team to identify study participants with Turner syndrome and healthy controls.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the study designs and procedures, including inclusion and exclusion criteria for Turner syndrome patients, and be able to communicate them to potential participants and parents.
  • Perform study procedures to include but not limited to the following:
    • Screen, recruit, enroll and obtain informed consent for Turner syndrome research trials.
    • Coordinate study visits in the CRU
    • Manage sample collection and processing.
  • Enter research data into databases and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of study participants and research activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews, and help ensure that all IRB submissions comply with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
  • Monitor study progress and assist with the preparation of progress reports for the research team and funding agencies.
  • Learn new research techniques as the lab expands into new areas.

About the Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes:


Our Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes provides leading expert care to children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. Additionally, we provide endocrinology-related medical education and also conduct research to help address knowledge gaps in our field.

Our team provides compassionate endocrine care coupled to expert diagnostic workup, treatment, and patient education. Our team is headed by over a dozen faculty physicians and subspecialty trained pediatric nurse practitioners. These providers collaborate with certified diabetes educators, endocrine nurses, dietitians, psychologists, and social workers to provide personalized care. Our faculty consistently earns outstanding patient satisfaction scores. The expertise of our faculty is recognized regionally, nationally, and even internationally. All our faculty are board certified/eligible in the subspecialty of pediatric endocrinology.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as biology, health sciences, or psychology or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 6 months research experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive research culture.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with EPIC and REDCap.
  • Demonstrated experience working with subject recruitment.
  • Previous experience with the IRB submission and approval process.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients and/or working with patients with Turner syndrome
