  • Make an Impact! As a REMOTE Coding Specialist, you will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes according to the Official Guidelines for coding and reporting. You will also adhere to HIM policies regarding diagnosis and procedure code assignment and maintain certain coding accuracy. Although this position is REMOTE, candidates will be required to orient on-site and also take a coding assessment as part of the interview process.

Position: Coding Specialist I, Pro Fee
Shift: Full-time (40 hours per week) Sunday to Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday options. Although this position is REMOTE, candidates will be required to orient on-site and also take a coding assessment as part of the interview process.

Experience:
1. Up to 1 year experience coding ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 required.
2. Experience working in EPIC or other electronic health record management software is preferred.
3. Proficiency demonstrated by taking a MLHS coding assessment.

Education:
1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
2. Associate’s Degree in a healthcare business related field preferred.
3. Completion of basic coding courses from an AHIMA or AAPC accredited program required.

Licensures/Certifications:
1. Credential from AAPC such as CPC, COC (formerly known as CPC-H), CPC-A.
OR
2. AHIMA credential such as CCS, CCA or CCS-P eligible.
