POSITION SUMMARY: Site Superintendent, QC, and Safety Officer

Annual Salary: $110,000-$125,000

Position shall be a direct report to the assigned Project Manager. Responsible for overall site management, coordination, and oversight of Task Orders as assigned. Responsibilities also include managing both project team mates, direct hire laborers, and subcontractors. In addition candidate shall identify, analyze, and develop improvements in productivity, client relationships, and customer service as they relate to the DAWSON’s total management system.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Eglin Air Force Base Access Only Required

  • 7+ Years Experience working with or on USAF bases and CE construction projects; specific experience at Eglin AFB is preferred.
  • Current CQMC certificate is required or proof of past CQMC course if more than 5 years prior.
  • Assists the project manager with conducting inspections, completing environmental/engineer reports, attaining all necessary permits and establishing schedule in accordance with contractual documents

  • Maintains contact with insurance carrier, fire protection, police department and other agencies having jurisdiction over the construction site to ensure that the site complies with the codes and regulations of each agency

  • Ensures that all required subcontractor/vendor insurance certificates and statutory worker’s compensation are in place prior to commencing work

  • Evaluates specifications for plan procedures, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for each phase of the construction project

  • Directs and motivates other supervisory personnel, subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing work procedures.

  • Inspects job site under construction on a regular basis to ensure the work conforms to specifications, budget and schedule and initiates any repair or replacement needs and/or adjustment of working procedures

  • Reviews and approves all vendor and subcontractor invoices pertaining to the construction department and submits all approved bills to the regional accounting department for processing and payment

  • Perform project site audits to ensure adherence to company SOPs/policies, project plans and specifications, and confirm as built drawing completions

  • Produce daily reports and consolidate reports from sub-contractors, and/or others for inclusion into daily the report.

  • Maintain red-line or as-built on project site.

  • Generate RFI’s in conjunction with Project Manager and support all change orders as required.

  • Generate and disperse Government inspections and sign-offs.

  • Maintain daily reports in binder for Client personnel.

  • Gather, prepare and submit O&M data and coordinate for Customer Training as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Administration and conducting of the 3 phases of quality control as detailed in the USACE QCM requirements.
  • Assists in the consolidation of subcontractor certified payrolls for submission to the client.
  • Production of weekly schedule updates and look ahead schedules in conjunction with the Project Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in direct construction supervision and management or post-secondary education

  • 7(+) years of direct Federal DoD construction processes

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • OSHA 10 and 30-hour certification required with recent CPR training

  • Construction Health & Safety Technician certification desired

  • Completion of United States Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Quality Management course

  • Knowledge of construction related technologies, quality activities and quality auditing. Ability to read and understand engineering design drawings, specifications, and applicable technical instructions, plans and reports.

  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and other applicable programs.
  • Understanding and experience with DOD ICD 705 standards for secure facilities construction.
  • Must have experience in production and implementation of the 3 phases of quality control as detailed in the USACE QCM requirements.



EDUCATION:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 8 or more years project related construction experience

  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 10 or more years project related construction experience

  • A high school diploma and 15 or more years related field construction experience, coupled with additional craftsman certifications and/or training certifications
