Where the Chemistry Happens

Our team is searching for a Control Engineer to work at our Wyandotte, MI Cellasto plant. As a Control Engineer, you will be responsible for driving standardization, optimization of existing equipment. You will also design and implement new technologies in conjunction with our Global COC team and the other plant engineers.

As a Control Engineer you create chemistry by…

  • Working closely with multiple disciplines such as process management and maintenance to ensure that capital projects and necessary repairs are appropriately supported with electrical and controls engineering resources.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the automation strategy using global and regional resources to advance process technology.
  • Identifying and implementing process optimization / Lean opportunities within the technology to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Demonstrating leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to process safety rules and policies to promote the BASF safety culture.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  • Bachelor of Science in Controls Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • PLC, HMI, SCADA and robot programming and diagnostics experience
  • Electrical design and commissioning experience
  • Electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation troubleshooting skills
