We are looking for an experienced Controller to produce annual budget and quarterly forecast plans, monthly variance analyses and management level KPI reporting. The Controller should possess expertise in accounting concepts, analysis, forecast modeling, and report writing. The position requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel including knowledge of pivot tables and macros, Microsoft PowerPoint, and SAP experience.

This position is based in Teaneck, NJ.

The position reports directly to the Vice President Finance.

This is a full-time position with full benefits.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Responsible for preparing annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts for two legal entities (Leica USA and Leica Mexico). Will add Leica Canada next year.
• Responsible for producing a monthly executive-level commercial report analyzing sales, inventory and company level KPIs.
• Develop and maintain weekly and monthly financial analyses, variance analyses, KPI reporting and commentary for executive management and functional departments including retail, e-commerce, multi-brand sales (photo and sport optics), Akademie, Customer Care (After Sales Service), and marketing. Analyses will include reporting on sales, gross margin and opex.
• Responsible for preparing analyses required by Leica?s outside CPA for preparation of corporate tax returns.
• Responsible for preparation of analyses required by Leica?s insurance broker for policy renewals.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet account analyses encompassing inventory, inventory reserves, prepaid expenses, liabilities, accrued expenses, and fixed assets.
• Special projects as needed

Qualifications, skills and abilities:

• Bachelor?s degree in accounting.
• Minimum three-year?s experience in a similar role with a retail organization (premium/luxury products are a plus).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel including knowledge of pivot tables and macros, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with SAP.
• Take ownership of project needs/requests and ensure they are facilitated through to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
