Job description

Qualification:

• Must have High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to read and write in the English language
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Cook experience
• Current State Sanitation License
• Be able to follow recipes correctly

Responsibilities:

• Reviews menus and prepares required amount for meals
• Prepares meals following the menus and standardized recipes
• Prepares food in safe and sanitary manner
• Prepares food in a timely manner to preserve food quality and serve meals on time
• Completes prep as needed
• Keeps waste down to a minimum (no more than 5% waste per meal) to help meet dietary budget.
• Takes and records food temperatures as required
• Prepares and serves food attractively using garnishes when needed
• Tastes food for palatability
• Prepares and assist with special functions
• Makes menu changes as needed
• Prepare food for employee meals
• Label all leftovers
• Can operate kitchen equipment
• Instructs assistant cook in what is needed for meals
• Has food prepared for all consistencies and special diets
• Prepares substitutions as needed
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.90 - $15.90 per hour
