Major/Essential FunctionsServes as employee within the Amarillo School of Medicine Medical Staff Office where all provider credentialing and enrollment is done for over 100 providers. Works closely with another employee and under guidance of Unit Manager to assist with any and all tasks assigned. Examples of specific tasks below:
Perform general office functions such as answer phones, process mail, create/maintain/purge files, etc.
Scan documents ensuring utmost accuracy before paper records may be removed
Enroll and maintain Medicare as well as TX, OK, and NM Medicaid programs
Receive, review, and correct New Mexico Medicaid turnaround forms
Responsible for completing annual Oklahoma Medicaid renewals
Disseminate necessary information updates to internal and external entities (license renewals, etc.)
Update software information and maintain notifications in credentialing database/software (MD-Staff)
Monitor files and reports for audit processes
Complete annual Texas Healthy Women renewals
Perform data entry into CAQH database
Generate monthly reports from the MD-Staff system
Execute the monthly Patient Complaint Adverse Action Report
Support other areas in the department as needed
Occasional Duties
May serve as point of contact to assist in routing of questions and answers for the MSO office.
Required Qualifications
High school plus five years experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) in addition to basic skills for working in an office including use of scanner, copiers, and printers. Knowledge of how to create electronic files and folders. Extreme addition to detail and avoiding typos and misspellings given the potential financial impact of documents being worked on. Experienced working in extremely quiet office environment where almost all time in the day is spent at desk.
Prior experience with credentialing or enrollment of medical providers. Experience working with large volumes of work requiring precision and attention to detail.
