Job Summary

The CRNA Program Administrator will oversee the Doctor of Nursing Practice-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) degree.


Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Responsible for the overall development, implementation, and oversight of the CRNA program.
  • Ensure compliance with Council on Accreditation of Certified Nurse Anesthetists Program (COA) accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for the hiring of an Assistant Program Administrator, faculty, and staff to support the initiation and growth of the program.
  • Work collaboratively with the Schools within the Health Affairs division (Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Professions) to promote a positive and inclusive academic learning environment.
  • Develop curricula, establish preceptorships, identify, train and hire adjunct faculty, and establish policies and procedures for faculty and students.
  • Responsible for development and evaluation of the CRNA program faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Required Education/Experience

  • Doctoral Degree from an institution accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
  • Current License to practice nursing.
  • Current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Experientially qualified to provide leadership to the program.

  • Passionate about excellence in nursing education.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
