What we do:
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Cash Function has a long history of innovation and leadership as a high volume processor of U.S. Banknotes. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art automation to support operations and controls. The Cash Function pays out and receives deposits of currency from depository institutions (DIs), central banks and other governmental counterparties. Incoming deposits are processed to cull out unfit and suspected counterfeit notes and
remaining currency is repackaged for recirculation back to the depository institutions.
This position is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey and there may be some limited travel (both domestic and international).
Your role as a Currency Services Manager:
As a Currency Services Manager, you will provide oversight for the distribution of U.S. dollar banknotes and ensure depository institutions (DIs) with account holders are within compliance.
Provide management oversight for the daily cash operation including payments, receipts and processing of high value cash shipments from both domestic and international depository institutions.
Assure high performance, high productivity, efficiency and strong governance. Oversee a heavily regulated business environment, maintain strong controls and seek improvements to the control environment to manage operational, financial and compliance risk. You will:

  • Maintain successful relationships with internal and external lines of businesses to maximize efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills including the ability to think strategically, lead change, and manage and motivate various levels of staff.
  • Manage experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
  • Focuse on policy and strategy implementation for short-term results.
  • Participate on Federal Reserve System workgroups to promote best practices at other cash offices and engage in policy and product development related to cash and retail payments.
What we are looking for:
  • Relevant experience, primarily in an operations environment with some experience managing a
  • multi-shift operation preferred;
  • Proven operations management skills and ability to meet production parameters, review business controls, and meet cost controls.-Think strategically, lead change, and manage and motivate various levels of staff.
  • Proven project management skills with a focus on building high performance relationships and processes to drive projects forward.
  • Strong critical thinking skills combined with ability to synthesize data and analysis.\ Technological savvy.
  • Ability to present analysis in writing and verbally.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively, especially when dealing with outside stakeholders.
  • Background in engineering, manufacturing or supply chain, preferred.
