General Summary
This position works under general direction and is primarily responsible for receiving and processing customer orders and completing export documentation for shipment ensuring timely delivery. This position must always act as a liaison between customers and all other departments in a timely and courteous professional manner.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Receive and enter both domestic and international orders into the SAP system, review for product availability, pricing accuracy, and proper delivery methods. Follow special customer requirements when applicable, validate completeness and communicate with the customer to confirm order.

Notify and coordinate with CS Supply Coordinator, Sales and/or Shipping to assist in resolution of product supply issues impacting timely deliveries to the customers.

Process orders into deliveries for the warehouse/shipping department, within the agreed time frames, to ensure timely deliveries to domestic and international customers.

Work with shipping, local/state agencies, and freight forwarders to complete necessary export documentation for international shipping and ensure compliance with all export regulations and instructions.

Support Customer Service Requests (CSRs) through gathering required information from the customer, creating complaint case in SAP, ensuring all pertinent information is provided and is accurate for the Gatekeeper. Book return shipments as needed for complaint processing that involves product returns.

Provide high level of customer service through phone and email interactions with customers; Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions; take preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate customer issue; Respond to customers within agreed time frames.

Support and Meet department goals and KPIs as determined through annual Performance Dialog process.

Use due diligence in analyzing daily reports to ensure on-time delivery not adversely impacted by customer service error. Follow double check standards to ensure order entry accuracy to reduce customer service-related errors resulting in customer complaints.

Create and maintain customer master data in SAP to ensure accurate and current customer specific information including contact names, emails, incoterms, transit time, and department specific note fields.

Adhere to Chr. Hansen and Customer Service processes, procedures, and guidelines.

Perform other ad hoc tasks as requested to support CS Department, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-
Ability to read, write and speak English. Additional languages are a plus but not required.

Working knowledge of logistics and manufacturing processes within the Company.

Ability to perform calculations and conversions such as money, units, cells, etc.
-
Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ask the pertinent questions to determine customer needs.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
-
Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and SAP.

Ability to multi-task and use two computer monitors at one time.

These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of experience.
Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate. Generally sedentary work but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of work time. Some On-call work is required on rotational basis.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
