Activities

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) as a Cyber Package Analyst Mid.

Serve as a technical member of the BioMed/MedMOD Cyber Action Team and develop Authority to Operate and Authority to Connect (ATO/ATC) packages. Working under the direction of the Cyber Package Team lead, conduct cybersecurity work by performing modifications and reviews of existing ATO documentation and proactively providing insights into the documentation packages. Write and/or modify technical artifacts to support a favorable ATO/ATC decision. Track and monitor POA&Ms to escalate risks as appropriate. Determine cybersecurity risks and threats present, document and monitor them, and escalate to leadership as appropriate. Provide input to cybersecurity artifacts and technical briefings given to clients. Track project level deliverables such as schedules, artifacts, reports, and metrics and provide them to leadership. Provide technical and/or cybersecurity expertise to technical problems requiring a solution. Work independently and solve technical issues under general direction. Take meeting notes and facilitate the actions of mentored personnel. Coordinate with the BioMed Cybersecurity Engineers to proactively plan and review A&A packages prior to the package submission. Coordinate and hand off connectivity to the Network Security Operations (NSO) Team after ATC approval is received.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • Strong written skills and experience working in a team environment
  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects
  • Experience with life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of VA and DoD cybersecurity policies and ATO/ATC processes
  • Experience in tracking schedule and performance progress
  • Able to identify and mitigate risks
  • Understanding of process management and improvement (Agile preferred)
  • Experience dealing with cybersecurity management as it relates to systems with an emphasis on accreditations and POA&Ms
  • Ability to manage the connection of approved solutions (i.e., provide leadership and coordination to geographically dispersed and matrixed teams of network engineers, system owners, system administrators, etc. to support connectivity testing and events)
  • Experience working with Change Control Boards
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline is required, or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA and/or DoD
  • Experience MS Project and Scheduling Tools
  • Experience integrating Electronic Health Records a plus
  • Experience working with Change Control Boards
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Cybersecurity certification preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCISO)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $77.00 per hour
