Position Description:

In the role of Data Analytics Consultant you will work with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Center for the Advancement of Women in Science and Medicine to advance MCW’s equity diversity and inclusion strategies, operations, and research through data collection, management, analysis, visualization, and reporting of measures and metrics. The Data Analytics and Research Specialist conducts data collection, cleaning, database management, descriptive analysis, and dissemination to transform data into valuable insights and actionable knowledge. Skilled in quantitative data management tools, methods of data collection, and written and oral communication to reinforce the link between diversity and institutional strategies and positive mission impact.
Responsibilities:
Perform data collection, management, and analysis
- Solicits, collects, compiles, and manages data sets from a variety of sources.
- Reliability and accurately analyses and interprets data from verified and accurate data sets.
- Performs statistical analyses to support the generation of insights and understanding.
- Manages data pertaining to equity, diversity, inclusion goals, outcomes, and impact.
- Develops, maintains, and updates databases of operational and strategic data.
Work collaboratively and partner to access data and provide data sets
- Partners with data owners to identify and develop data sets.
- Works with data owners to ensure clean, accurate sources of data.
- Participates regularly in group meetings and provides basic project management when needed.
- Works collaboratively to generate data and data sets for researchers and advanced data users (ex, Biostatisticians, Data Scientists).
Support development of metrics and measures of effectiveness and impact
- Assists in identifying, developing, and monitoring metrics that indicate the effectiveness and impact of MCW’s equity diversity and inclusion strategies, tactics, interventions, initiatives, and programs.
- Analyzes data to identify opportunities for metrics and measures by comparing data against metrics, program goals ore established benchmarks.
Build data visualizations and perform reporting
- Generates reports to support accreditation, grant funding, and audits.
- Monitors trends by department, center, and institute and prepares appropriate reports for review.
- Creates dashboards to assess and monitor trends, performance, and goal progress.
- Prepares reports and presentations for leaders and project teams, stakeholders, or funders.
- Prepares data for annual reporting to key stakeholders.
Manage information sharing and tool dissemination
- Serves as point of contact regarding data inquiries and project-related technical support.
- Responds to inquiries regarding data and reports from partners and stakeholder's measurement methods and protocols.
- Prepares, analyzes, and manages distribution and communication of department/unit level survey reports and assist leaders in interpreting results and assessing needs and opportunities.
- Provides technical consultation on how to access and interpret data dashboards and reports.
Support research and scholarship to advance strategic outcomes and operational effectiveness.
- Supports research and conference presentations
- Collaborate with organization and department leaders to support data for research and scholarly work products
Develop professional knowledge skills and abilities
- Continually updates knowledge and understanding of data analytics and quantitative research and analysis methods, and applications to equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies and operations.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Demonstrated quantitative data handling skills using standard data management tools. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize work collaboratively with project leaders. Skill in business and research report compilation and writing. Clear, organized, audience-centric oral, written, and interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborates and works effectively and in a timely fashion with internal and external partners—the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Preferred Schedule:
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years progressive experience in data cleaning and management using tools such as SPSS, Python, or R, mastery of descriptive statics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, Industrial & Organizational Psychology
- Quantitative research, inferential statistics, education, training, or experience (work or volunteer) in a diversity-related area (ex. talent analytics, workforce development, health disparities, supplier diversity, an equal opportunity/legal or community engagement), website content management applications, dashboard development, and management using visualization tools (ex. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI)
