The Data Warehouse Engineer assesses business process needs and IT system solutions. This position designs requirements, specifications, and costs for implementation, and supports other IT technical issues, as needed. Designing methods to store, analyze, utilize, and organize data and setting up computer databases after identifying user needs are also responsibilities of this role. This position migrates data from old systems to new systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and support:
    • Back-end database interfaces between applications
    • Document management solutions
    • User interfaces for interacting with databases and document management systems.
  • Gather business requirements from users.
  • Verify accuracy and consistency of data.
  • End-user acceptance testing and roll-out.
  • Identification of technology utilization opportunities.
  • Perform end-user training and ensure adoption of the data warehouse to the enterprise.
  • Manage user expectations and estimate project milestone timelines.
  • Manage, monitor and maintain company databases and document management systems.
  • Address data quality issues with clients and management.
  • Make requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data.
  • Ensure database integrity, stability and system availability.
  • Maintain database backup and recovery infrastructure.
  • Implement and test database design and functionality and tuning for performance.
  • Write reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position can be located in either Southern California or MD/DC/VA and requires at least one day onsite in the Costa Mesa, CA office or Bethesda, MD office.
  • The base annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience with: SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, PowerBi required
  • Proficiency in, multiple programming languages (.Net, C#, python, KQL, PowerShell etc.) preferred
  • Office 365/Azure/SharePoint knowledge/experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interact with various vendors, levels of management and end-users
  • Problem solving skills, creative thinking and solid organization and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of real estate.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to remain objective, discrete and exercise common sense at all times.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and able to work on various projects simultaneously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Maintains and adheres to strict confidentiality.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires the use of a computer screen for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) the majority of the time.
