This is a full-time position with hours Mon-Fri from 8am-4:30pm, and will be housed in the Dental Clinic at Talihina's Health Care Center. This position is eligible for earned weekly wage access
Job Summary: As our Dental Assistant, you will increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health procedures and surgeries.
This position is subject to the Supreme Court's mandate for the Covid-19 vaccination. The Choctaw Nation offers medical and/or religious exemptions to those who cannot get the vaccine.
You will report to the Dental Clinic Manager
Primary Tasks:
You will assist the operating dentist, essentially acting as an extra pair of hands.
You will chart dental treatment as advised by the dentist.
You will set up the dental instruments and accessories needed for each individual dental procedure/surgeries.
You will communicate, identify, and record patient concerns.
You will take clear and readable diagnostic dental radiographs.
You will practice infection control standards as set forth by company policy and procedures.
You will maintain dental equipment by performing basic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer
You will assist the ward clerk with office duties when needed.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
High school diploma or GED
Must obtain Dental Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry w/30 days of hire
Must obtain radiology certification in one year
Basic knowledge of dental charting systems, dental terminology, and oral health education
