Shroyer Family Dental is looking for a full-time dental assistant to join the team.

Dental assistant job duties include:

• Assist dentist or hygienist chairside
• Type clinical notes
• Help patients to feel comfortable
• Sterilization of instruments
• Answer the phone, scheduling patients, help with front desk as needed
• Cross training for various dental office job duties

Shroyer Family Dental has two locations which full time staff will work at each week:

Mt. Pleasant, Iowa office located at 217 E Monroe St operates:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

West Point, Iowa office located at 706 Ave C operates:

Tuesdays

Clinic hours are generally 8-5pm, with an unpaid one hour lunch from 1-2pm. Fridays we currently work 8-3pm with no lunch break. Staff are expected to arrive before clinic starts to prepare for the day and may be required to work overtime occasionally.

Starting in February 2023 we will take approximately every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

• Registered dental assistant is preferred but not required
• X-Ray Certification is preferred but not required
• Continuous on the job training will be provided
• Strong work ethic
• Willing to learn new things and receive constructive feedback
• Excellent communicator
• Team player
• Attention to detail
• Must be a people person

**For applicants who are not a registered dental assistant please note below:

• Dental trainee status starts once employment begins and ends at 12 months of employment.
• Dental trainee is required by state law to become registered by 12 months.
• The process to become registered involves passing exam content at a community college in Iowa over the following material: Iowa jurisprudence, Infection control and hazardous materials and Dental radiography (x-rays).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
